Subject: Mama- still holds up
I was very young when this series was broadcasted, but still remember it as one of my favorite tv series. For the first time in over fifty years, I finally got to see a few of the episodes again and enjoyed it just as much as then. Peggy Wood was a wonderful actress! What a wholesome program this was.

Subject: Very special series
This program is still remembered by those who saw it during the early 1950's, and it's a shame so many episodes are lost to history. Only around 20 Live episodes survive, along with the 26 filmed episodes. Being produced in New York City meant that this series could use theatre actors, which enhanced the series.

Subject: A gentle, solid show
I have to say, this show is very engaging -- and habit forming. A good reason to look up the other episodes in the Archive. I can see why it was on the air for seven years and won awards. Good writing, good acting, good directing, neat sets, and all done live. Amazing. This show was broadcast in the late 40s/early 50s and was a nostalgic look back at the time around early World War I. It struck me that at the time I'm writing this (2008), my look back at this 1950s program is longer ago than *they* were looking back at the 1910s!
